Although, the strategy for training remote workers has the same fundamental concepts of adult and distance learning and training, there are some key things to keep in mind according to Delivering Training to a Virtual Workforce.

• There must be a sound learning strategy that is consistent with the entire organization and not just remote workers
• Technology tools will play a key role in the implementation of training as well as performance support tools.  There should be capability to deliver content on any mobile device, including smart phones and tablets.
• All training should be employee focused to meet the various development stage of learning
• Informal learning with social sharing tools must be integrated into the learning strategy
